Covid-19 Breakout

On March 13, 2020 President Trump declared a national emergency. People began practicing social distancing. Products on shelves began quickly disappearing as people began buying bulks of hand sanitizers, toilet paper, paper towels, canned foods, cereals, ect. Many stores are simply empty and out of stock. Looking at empty shelves and aisles in stores is something no American was prepared for.

The city of New York became the epicenter of the virus within the United States. Many New Yorkers self-quarantined and the once thunderous streets of times square became a ghost town as people are are staying within the safety of their homes. All non-essential businesses closed down and many people are now out of a job. Schools and daycares are closed forcing kids to learn via online portals. Simply put, the way of life as we knew it was not the same and changes were in full affect.

Unfortunately NY hospitals were unprepared for the pandemic that covid-19 turned into. There are currently not enough masks or ventilators in the hospitals. Doctors and nurses across the US are given one mask and told to wear it until it rips – a far from ideal situation.

So how are we involved? Because you know we had to step in and help!

GlobalSecurityIntel is giving out masks to hospital staff – doctors and nurses, EMT workers, FDNY, and NYPD in that order. These are people on the front lines who are exposed to the virus everyday due their jobs and their oath they took to save lives!

We have been collecting donations and matching them to purchase as many masks as we can. Many professionals have reached out to us to get masks and we do our best to supply those on the front lines with free masks. These are our heroes.

Tragedy Forces To Train

It is unfortunate to hear that antisemitism is on the rise. It is a harsh reality that is hard to accept however, it has become evident in recent events. 2019 ended in a state of awakening for the Jews of Monsey, NY in a horrific attack executed by a man with a machete.

The attacker, Grafton E. Thomas, ran into the home of Rabbi Chaim L. Rottenberg where many were gathered after just finishing a candle-lit ceremony. Holding a machete, Thomas began violently swinging it at everyone he could. The victims fought back as they could, throwing furniture at the attacker, preventing him from entering an adjoining synagogue, Congregation Netzach Yisroel, by barricading the door after the attack began.

The attack lasted less than two minutes before the assailant fled by car, only to be arrested hours later. In this very short time 5 people were slashed and were taken to nearby hospital. Two remained hospitalized, including a victim who sustained wounds to the head who remained in critical condition.

As a result, members of the Jewish community are on high alert. Preventive measures must be taken to better be prepared in case an attack occurs. Security strategies must take place – cameras, preparedness, training, etc.

Some members decided to take matters into there own hands and apply for firearms license to protect their community. These same members decided to keep their communities safe from harm and take proactive measures, joining a monthly shooting training course with GlobalSecurityIntel to defend themselves, with critical skills to survive any scenario.

Be prepared not worried !

Recent Attacks on the Jewish Community Lead to More Security Protocols Taking Place

News 12 filmed a security walk through in action featuring Ross Den. Click here to view a short clip. In wake of the Jewish holiday, Hanuka, a synagogue in Queens, NY decided to up their security. The goal, to protect the people of the congregation and up their security in case of an attack. Due to current events and the unfortunate plenitude of attacks on places of worship, many have taken the lead. Security consultants write up assessments and advise on how to better protect themselves in case the need arises.

Security assessments are great for understanding your environment and areas that need improvement. Once an assessment of a facility is complete, an application can be filled out to receive a grant from the Department of Homeland Security. These Grants are given to allow religious places of worship to improve on their security measures and prevent possible attacks. The grant would give up to $100,000 for improvements. Contact us to inquire and receive a full assessment of your facility.

As great as physical improvements to a facility are, it is also important to train yourself and your staff. It is always a good idea to be prepared whether your walking down the street at night or praying in a church or synagogue. Our Security training seminars include full day handgun training and seminars on general safety and awareness.

Inquire today, your safety comes first!

Masks Donated to NYC Doctors and Nurses

Global Security Intel is at it again. Donating masks to those in need. But how is it done? We realized if we donate masks to hospitals, we have no idea what happens to them and how they get distributed. So what we’re doing is giving these masks directly to hospital staff e.g. doctors and nurses.

We’ve answered the calls of hundreds of doctors and nurses who have asked for masks and we personally drove out to hand deliver. We don’t know what it’s like in those hospitals where supplies are low but what we do know is that these people are putting themselves on the line doing whatever they can everyday. As a thank you, the very least we can do is try to protect them by providing masks and making sure they do indeed receive them.

InstaCare EMS Supplied with N-95 Masks

As covid-19 continues on with its trajectory, the lack of preparedness is hitting our country hard. The epicenter of this virus, New York, is suffering every minute with more and more people calling for help.

On March 25, 2020 Ross Den, President of GlobalSecurityIntel, donated 50 N95 masks to InstaCare EMS. It may not seem like a large sum but with the shortages going on in NY today these men and women have close to nothing to begin with. We are fighting to get more masks everyday and will continue to donate to those in need, our front line workers.

FDNY EMS Workers, Out Of Safety Equipment

To our greatest regret, we now have word that FDNY EMS workers are officially running out of masks. The protocol was, when an FDNY EMS worker is called, they are to wear a mask before and during the care of a patient. Now however, they are told to use these masks sparingly. Only using them once a patient begins to cough or sneeze. As many can imagine at that point a mask may be too late. But the city is running out and are mandating this new rule.

Once this came to our attention, action had to be taken. KN-95 masks have been donated to FDNY EMS workers. In hopes to keep our heroes safe, healthy, able to treat others, and come home with one less thing to worry about.

Mutual Efforts Give Light to Hope

On March 26, 2020 at 11pm GlobalSecurityIntel’s president, Ross Den donated 90 masks to the 61st precinct of NYPD. Just before that, at 9pm the GlobalSecurityIntel team was quickly working to separate masks into individual packages for all members of the 61st precinct.

However, Ross Den was not the only one that day who was fighting the battle of no supplies. Chaim Deutsch, Council Member for the 48th District of NY was also present, distributing hand sanitizers which was a gift from a local store: Amazing Savings.

Their mutual effort made a big change that day. It may have been a small gesture, hand sanitizers and masks on any normal day wouldn’t have been a big deal, but on this day it was a huge collaboration between Ross and Chaim to support NYPD officers and provide them with necessities that may save them from contacting the virus.
